Bear Run

Bear Run tracks the contemporary rituals, language, values and evolving aesthetic of bear culture by following three sets of characters as they romp through the 2006-2008 event circuit. Through the compelling stories of Mikhael, John and Mike, and Louie, the documentary explores ageism, gender, body image, and the need for community and love.

Director Dan Hunt's poignant documentary follows 5 self-described bears as they navigate the summer event circuit. Through the backdrop of the bear community we see how these men struggle with ideas of commitment, approval and self-esteem, all while they search for love, acceptance, and the next great Bear Run. Part of Logo's Real Momentum documentary series.

Bear Run challenges stereotypes about gay life and creates a delightful and intimate portrait of what it means to be a mature, gay man in the new millennium.
