Episode 15
James hasn't had a successful date since he moved to New York six months ago, even though he's a talented singer, funny and ... cuddly. Clearly, his romantic life is suffering because he's unhappy with his weight, but also the fact that his singing career has been in a rut for over six years. And nowhere is this lack of effort more evident than his downright sad attempt at jogging. James needs to learn to conquer his deep negativity and regain control of his life before romance will come his way.
It's been almost a month, and James has been working out. His personal trainer Courtney has helped James lose 17 pounds, and endured a lot of griping in the process. But one thing James still hasn't lost is his negativity. Mikial is a hairstylist who's constantly smiling, making him the perfect guy to have James looking and feeling better. But, it's Toshio, the result of a long search for a guitarist, that has James feeling good about himself, his future, and the idea of re-entering the dating world.
James has lost weight and regained momentum in his career. But, what about romance? After meeting John on line, James made a bold move: he invited John to his first live performance in years. And James was a hit, with the audience and John, at least until the date moved off the stage, and to the dinner table. Losing energy fast, James reverts back to his old sour attitude and the date is a bust. James started the show with two goals: getting his career and his romantic life back on track. He met one of those goals.
