A native of Brooklyn, New York, James C. Mathis III relocated to Los Angeles to study at the School of Cinema-Television, University of Southern California. Upon graduating, he landed his first role starring opposite Kathy Baker in "Cass," a pilot for CBS. His other television credits include guest roles and appearances on "Judging Amy," "Monk," "The King of Queens," and "ER." This Fall season, he will begin production for a comedy series slated to air on Vh1.

When he's not in front of the camera, Mathis is in front of the microphone using his talent for voiceovers. He has been featured in several comedy skits on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher." Also, he lends his voice to video games, including the movie-based versions of "The Matrix: Path of Neo," "Fantastic Four," and the soon-to-be-released "Scarface." McDonalds and other popular commercial brands often hire him to promote new products for their radio and television campaigns, while film studios and television networks utilize his voice in trailers to promote upcoming projects.
