A young girl must choose sides when she discovers the secret life of her sibling.
I chose to tell a queer story through the eyes of the straight sibling to express how gender expression and sexuality affect not just one person but all members of a family. In discovering Caleb's secret, the character of Bee is forced to work through -- and ultimately accept -- her own identity and sexuality.
I really like Claire Denis' Beau Travail. There's a violent play between the stern and the emotional in that movie that resonates with me. I am also a big fan of Milos Forman and the playfulness and boldness of his movies. His long and varied repertory of films inspires me to learn about people and subjects outside my comfort zone.

Angela Cheng
Angela Cheng is 30-years-old. She was born in Bryan, Texas and studied at New York University film school. Her first project is a short film called Opium Man, about a young boy who fantasizes that he is a kung fu hero in ancient China. She is also in the middle of writing a murder mystery for a Web series.
