Fashion And The Future Come Together At 2016 Met Ball

See what Madonna, Katy Perry and Beyoncé wore on the red carpet.

Stars from Sarah Jessica Parker to Lady Gaga walked the red carpet tonight at the 2016 Met Gala, each delivering their interpretation of the museum's new high-tech exhibit, "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology."

Orchestrated by Vogue editrix Anna Wintour, the annual affair raises more than $10 million for the museum's Costume Institute every year. This year, Karl Lagerfeld, Miuccia Prada, Taylor Swift and Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière served as honorary co-chairs.

Katy Perry thinks the future doesn't have eyebrows—at least judging by her bare visage. Perry's hair was swept up into a giant cone rising a foot over her head.

Claire Danes stole the show in a Zac Posen dress that was fitted with fiberoptics and lit up in the dark.

Other stars going for a metallic interpretation included Swift, Madonna, Demi Lovato, Kim Kardashian and Zayn Malik, who adorned his suit with armored sleeves.

Beyonce bucked the trend, though, making her entrance in a peach latex gown by Givenchy.

The Lemonade singer went solo on the red carpet, leaving husband Jay Z at home.

Feeling particularly maternal, a pregnant Blake Lively wore a blush Burberry gown with red petal motif.
