Katy Perry Explains Why She Hasn't Been a Guest Judge on "RuPaul's Drag Race"

Calling all KatyCats!

Katy Perry's music has been the soundtrack for some of the most iconic lip-syncs in RuPaul's Drag Race herstory — so why hasn't the "Swish Swish" songstress been on the show herself?

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Perry discusses a variety of topics, from her campy Las Vegas residency to her love for Dua Lipa, and why she has yet to join Ru and Michelle Visage at the Drag Race judges' panel:

"Oh, I want to. I think it’s just been timing, and it’s been one of those things where we tried to do it a couple of times, but the timing hasn’t worked out," Perry explained. "I’m definitely going to do it in the future, I hope."

"Quite honestly, if it weren’t for drag queens, I probably wouldn’t have a career because I probably learned everything from them," she added.

Perry's love for the art of drag has been no secret. She had drag artists perform with her on SNL, and she brought queens from RuPaul's Drag Race Live up on stage at her Play Las Vegas show.

This past August, Perry even invited Aquaria to the Play stage to teach her how to do a dip in front of her audience of enthusiastic KatyCats.

“It’s fierce for me and fun for other people who want to see a queen slay the house down,” Aquaria told Rolling Stone. “Katy has consistently loved to celebrate pop music and shows that pop music will never die.”

Sounds like Perry will be "Walking on Air" when she finally kikis with the queens in the Drag Race workroom.
