Sam Smith just celebrated an amazing year topped off with a bevy of Grammy nominations. But the "Stay With Me" singer isn't feeling some of his pop-star compatriots.

Talking to the legendary Chaka Khan in the upcoming issue of V Magazine, Smith said:

Even when you meet them. I won’t name names, but some of these pop stars are just awful. And they have not even had half the success that you’ve had and yet you’re so humble and kind.

Chaka had her own dig at the whippersnappers, opining that “especially in this age, everything is a machine. You can tune a person.”

Damn, we can't see through all the shade!

The two music greats did sing the praises of some important performers, including Amy Winehouse, Joni Mitchell and Etta James, among them.
