We're Crying Over This Grandma's Response To Her Trans Granddaughter Coming Out

"Can I borrow your grandma?"

On Thursday, 20-year-old Leah told her Twitter followers she planned to tell her father and grandmother she's transgender. You might think an 86-year-old grandma would be uneasy with the news, but she accepted Leah with open arms and said: "You've always been so kind and sensitive. Now I see femininity in those memories. I'm proud of you for recognizing who you are and living as your true self. You're a beautiful woman and, no matter who you become, I love you."

Her kind words moved many.

Leah said her grandmother told her that the many responses her words received "fills her with hope that the world has become so compassionate since she was [Leah's] age."

Then it was time for Leah to share her truth with her dad.

Her father also responded lovingly, telling her, "Loving you means supporting you, even if it'll be a learning experience for me." (He also complimented her on her makeup!)

Viewers were equally moved: One Twitter user wrote, "You're dad is #goals!" Another wrote, "You have such a sweet family."

Leah says she feels "blessed" and "overwhelmed" by her family's support and the outpouring of love she's received from strangers across the Internet. "Thank you everyone who's been following along," she tweeted. "Sometimes, if only for a few moments, the world is a compassionate place."

P.S.: Leah says her dogs accept her, too.
