If your tears have finally dried after saying goodbye to Schitt's Creek during last week's series finale, then get ready to imagine a very different farewell to the Roses.
Don't worry, Moira's wigs were always part of the series finale plan, but in a recent interview with TV Guide, Schitt's Creek star and co-creator Dan Levy revealed that the final episode almost looked very different.
Specifically, a different Rose sibling nearly walked down the aisle.
"I think the only major difference was Alexis, and I think that was a decision that was made during Season 4," Levy told the outlet when asked about his initial plan for the series finale. "Originally, I thought that Alexis and Ted (Dustin Milligan) were going to get married. And then the more that that story played itself out, the more that that story felt like it was about personal growth for both of them, and not necessarily a wedding."
In the final season, Alexis and Ted decided to end their relationship, with Ted moving to the Galapagos for work and Alexis heading to New York to pursue her PR dreams.
Levy said he didn't want a wedding for them, instead preferring to have the characters "live bigger and bolder than they ever had."
"And in order to do that, it felt like they had to take that next step on their own," he explained. "I actually feel like the Alexis-Ted breakup was one of the more special moments in our entire series because I haven't seen a breakup that really celebrated a relationship in the way that scene did and gave people closure at the same time."
It's just another reason why Schitt's Creek was simply the best.
