Where's Dolly? Jane Fonda And Lily Tomlin Reunite For Gay-Themed Netflix Sitcom
It's been over 30 years since Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin struck a blow for werqing-gurl-kind in the classic comedy 9 to 5, with bosom buddy Dolly Parton. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fonda and Tomlin will yuck it up once again in Grace and Frankie, a 13-episode comedy from Friends creator Marta Kauffman. The series will premiere on Netflix, joining flagship original programming House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, in 2015.
According to THR:
the single-camera comedy centers on nemeses Grace (Fonda) and Frankie (Tomlin), whose lives are turned upside down when their husbands announce they are in love with each other and plan to get married. The women, much to their own dismay, find that their lives are permanently intertwined and, much to their surprise, they find they have each other.
Sisters doing it for themselves! After their husbands end up doing it with each other. We're already hooked, but if Kauffman and co. want to guarantee gay eyeballs, throw a Dolly cameo or two in there for good measure. Hell, Dabney Coleman's apparently still alive so why not bring the old gang back together for some good old Netshtick?
