Lady Camden on the Most Painful Part of the "Drag Race" Season 14 Finale

Hint: It involves a horse and carriage.

From Camden Town and Sacramento to the Las Vegas strip — Lady Camden had fans falling for her on both sides of the pond.

Camden consistently served it on the runway with a collection of couture looks that left the judges stunned, but it was her fake fall during the "Chaps on the Runway" challenge that instantly earned her a spot in Drag Race herstory. Her fall fakeout and mustache reveal showed a different side of Camden, one that helped her win three maxi challenges and make it all the way to the final two of Season 14.

While Lady Camden didn't walk away with the crown, she did snatch $50,000 and proved to be one of the fiercest competitors the series has ever seen. Camden spoke with Logo about her time on Drag Race, what it was like watching the finale with her fellow queens, how she celebrated after Willow was crowned, and what is her favorite underrated Spice Girls song.

Hi Camden! So I was watching the reaction video of you five watching the finale...

Oh, God, I haven't watched it yet. I don't remember what I said, did I say something stupid?

There was one part where you're watching your performance of your "I Fall Down" song and you go, "Oh, my heart is racing." Why was your heart racing, watching your performance?

I don't know... I remember it going well, but I think that when you perform for a living, you just... You don't watch yourself back that often. I just care a lot about how it goes. Also, I'm my worst critic too. I never watch a performance of mine and go, "That was perfect." I'm always like, "Oh, okay, that was awful, I could have done this better, could have gotten that stronger or leg up higher there..." It's just nerve-wracking watching yourself back when you are so critical.

I get that. And then, when it was the final lip sync between you and Willow you said, "I don't remember any of this," I was wondering, what was that like, standing on that stage, about to lip-sync against Willow for the crown?

I mean, talk about a crazy experience, that is the place where I was like, I don't know, my mind just went a bit blank. Because I think it was a combination of things, I think that day we had done so much, it was the end of the week of us preparing and filming in Vegas, and that morning we had done the runway and, just a side note: My runway was so tight. I don't what happened on the way to getting to me, but I had to be in the tightest corset I've ever been in in my life, and so... My body had just been through it all day.

The horse and carriage look?

It was, yeah. There were just so many elements to it, and I loved it and how it came out, but it just was very painful as well. And then after that, we had to do the show performance, so there's a lot of adrenaline and excitement with that, and then when it came down to the final lip syncs night, I think we were both just so kind of emotionally exhausted at that point. And I think we both agreed before we went on stage: No matter what happens, let's just give them a show. Let's just give them a good performance. So I think that I didn't remember what happened because it wasn't a choreographed number, so I wasn't thinking about how I had to do everything, it was sort of just like you got to just let it go and have fun. So I don't remember what I did, because I was trying to just live in the moment.

What went through your mind when RuPaul announced Willow Pill was the winner?

I don't know, I think naturally, of course, I was disappointed, I think anybody would be, and I definitely had a little hope in there, but I also kind of knew... I could feel that it was Willow's time, I think that she's just such a crazy talented, amazing person and her story speaks to so many people, and she's just such a remarkable individual. I was disappointed, of course, but not surprised at all. She's incredible, and we're just so different from each other too and, honestly, I was just really honored that I got to share that top two spot with her.

So did you go out and celebrate afterward, or how did you spend the weekend after that?

I didn't really get to spend the weekend, just because I had to fly the next day to Copenhagen [for the Werq the World tour], but we definitely went out for some cheeky hot chaos that night, and I don't think I spent the whole night out, but we definitely had some fun, the five of us together.

So how are you feeling now?

Well, I've had a little bit more sleep, so I'm feeling a little bit more rested, but I think it's kind of fun to go straight from one crazy thing into the next crazy thing because it doesn't give you too much time to overthink and I like to just kind of move quickly onto the next thing anyway, so it's been really fun, and then also been really fun getting to meet the other girls in the cast [of Werk the World] too, because they're definitely all queens that I've watched come up in the show and just admired them for a long time, so it was a bit intimidating, obviously, at first, but it was really fun to just step on stage with them and be like, "Oh, my God, I'm dancing with these queens that I've just been a fan of for so long!" So it's cool, it's really fun.

Have you heard from any of the Drag Race U.K. queens?

Yeah, a few of them. I posted a TikTok of "If Lady Camden wins..." And then someone handed me a Ru Peter badge and then I had a disappointed look on my face, and I had Blu Hydrangea message me and she was like, "Hey, bitch, that's my life," and I was just like, "I'm sorry." But I think she was just joking, it was fine, it was all in good jest. I've been reached out to by a few people. The Vivienne was really sweet, Divina de Campo was a sweetheart too. Yeah, they've been really sweet. Cheryl Hole is such a sweetheart too, she was like, "I'm so proud of you," and she was talking about how we're going to hang out when I go over to the U.K., so that will be fun.

I loved your Spice Girls look, and on your Instagram, you said, "Eight-year-old me is so happy right now!"

Oh, big time!

So I'm just curious, what's your favorite underrated Spice Girls song?

Oh, gosh, let me see. I think "Never Give Up on the Good Times" is definitely one of my favorites.

Mine too!

Just because it's kind of a fun disco moment and it's not a hit, necessarily, but that's definitely one of my favorites. I love "Say You'll Be There," even though that's a hit. I think "Too Much" is a lot of people's favorites and it's definitely one of mine too... "Viva Forever" is a really good one too. There are just so many, honestly. Actually, it's funny, they don't have that many albums, but they've made such an impact in pop culture, it's so funny. I feel like most people have had to churn out at least five albums to get to that point, whereas they only have three.

Well, those are all good choices! Lady Camden, congrats on making it to the final two. I thought you were so spectacular this season and I cannot wait to see you out on tour

Oh, my gosh, I mean, it's only just started, but I'm already just living my fantasy... I've never performed in front of this many people in my life, it's crazy!
