"Days Of Our Lives" Is Bringing Gay Teen Will Horton Back From The Dead
Chandler Massey, who played beloved gay character Will Horton from 2010-2014 on NBC's Days of Our Lives, is returning to the long-running daytime soap to reprise his character—even though Will was killed off three years ago.
Massey won three consecutive Daytime Emmys for playing Will, and was a part of television history when he portrayed him during the series' first kiss between two men in 2012. Massey left the series in 2014 and Guy Wilson took over the role. Later that year Will made history again when he married Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) in daytime TV's first same-sex wedding between two men.
Sadly, the next year Will was killed off the series when he was a victim of the Necktie Killer, in a move that received serious backlash from fans.
Now, Massey is returning to play Will, but since the character was murdered, the show's writers are being tight-lipped about how and why he returns to the soap.
“I am so excited to be bringing Will back to Salem!” Massey told Entertainment Weekly. “I can’t wait for the fans to see what we have planned. You won’t want to miss it!”
The actor returned to work on the series in April and his first episode back will air in September. Are you excited, DOOL fans?
