Build Your Own Rainbow With Lego's First Pride Month Set

Because everyone *is* awesome!

Lego is celebrating Pride Month with its first LGBTQ set featuring every color of the rainbow.

The Everyone Is Awesome set — named after "Everything Is Awesome!!!", the Oscar-nominated song from The Lego Movie by queer indie-pop duo Tegan and Sara — features 11 monochrome figures. Each has its own unique hairstyle and color inspired by the stripes of the rainbow Pride flag.

“I wanted to create a model that symbolizes inclusivity and celebrates everyone, no matter how they identify or who they love," said Matthew Ashton, set designer and vice president of design for the Lego Group. "Everyone is unique, and with a little more love, acceptance and understanding in the world, we can all feel more free to be our true AWESOME selves! This model shows that we care, and that we truly believe ‘Everyone is awesome!’”

“I am fortunate to be a part of a proud, supportive and passionate community of colleagues and fans," Ashton continued. "We share love for creativity and self-expression through LEGO bricks and this set is a way to show my gratitude for all the love and inspiration that is constantly shared.”

The colorful set retails for $34.99 and will be available on June 1 online and in brick-and-mortar Lego stores.

The iconic toymaker isn't the first brand of its kind to make a queer-inclusive collection. Back in 2019, Mattel debuted its first gender-neutral Barbie as part of the Creatable World customizable doll kit. (The collection outraged One Million Moms, a boycott-crazed Christian group associated with the anti-LGBTQ American Family Association, but then again, what doesn't piss them off?)
