Will Nicole Byer tell the queens they "nailed it?"
That's what we're wondering after hearing she will be joining the judges panel on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 13. Deadline reports that the Emmy-nominated Nailed It host is just one of the famous faces that will be sitting next to RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, and Ross Mathews on the new season.
Cynthia Erivo, Loni Love, TS Madison, and Jamal Sims will also be on-hand to critique the queens as extra special guest judges. Drag Race diehards Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson will surprise the squirrel friends with virtual masterclasses, and crowned Miss Congeniality winners Heidi N Closet, Nina West, and Valentina will also make guest appearances.
These celeb guest judges are no stranger to the Drag Race world. Byer interviewed Ru at DragCon LA 2019, Sims has choreographed many a Drag Race musical number, including the Drag Race Live! Las Vegas show. While Love was a contestant on last year's Secret Celebrity Drag Race, and was a guest on RuPaul's 2019 talk show.
In case you need a RuFresher, the 13 queens who will have you gagging this season are Denali, Elliott with 2 Ts, Gottmik, Joey Jay, Kahmora Hall, Kandy Muse, Lala Bi, Olivia Lux, Rosé, Symone, Tamisha Iman, Tina Burner, and Utica Queen.
“Competing safely and fiercely, our 13 queens proved that it takes more than a global pandemic to keep a good queen down,” RuPaul said in a statement, referencing how the season was filmed following strict COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. Are we the only ones digging the new plexiglass barriers? Please welcome to the stage… Lexi Glass!
RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13 premieres Friday, January 1 at 8/7c on VH1, followed by a new season of Untucked at 9:30/8:30c.
