Porn Site xHamster Offers To Host Third Season Of "Sense8"

"We’re not talking about a parody, or something 'less than,'" said CEO Alex Hawkins, "but an actual revival of the series."

An unusual source has offered to air the third season of Sense8 that creator Lana Wachowski revealed she's writing: In an open letter, xHamster CEO Alex Hawkins said the adult video site would be happy to host it.

"We know it’s unconventional, but we want to bring it back—on xHamster," Hawkins wrote. "We’re not talking about a parody, or something less than, but an actual revival of the series."

While xHamster is best known as a porn hub, Hawkins says it has "a long history of fighting for the rights of sexual speech, and non-normative sexuality... [We] continue to use our audience to speak up against repressive anti-LGBTQ laws in the US and abroad, and for sex ed in public schools Planned Parenthood and the rights of sex workers."

After North Carolina passed its odious bathroom bill, xHamster blocked users from the state from accessing the site.

Sense8 has been both acclaimed and criticized for its bold depictions of various gender and sexual identities, which, in addition to its massive production costs, may have influenced Netflix's decision to end the series.

“We have no such limitations, and also understand implicitly the interconnectedness of sexualities across boundaries," the letter adds. "In short, we are a we.”

In asking for a meeting with Wachowski and her fellow showrunners, Hawkins admits, "we know we’re an unlikely home. But five years ago, people laughed at the idea of Netflix producing original series. We think that our time, like yours, has come.”

Wachowski has not yet responded to the offer. In a recent Facebook Live session, she revealed that she's was writing a third season regardless of Netflix's decision to end the series.

“She’s writing... because she believes so much in the fans that they’re going to go out and actually create so many more fans," Wachowski said, referring to herself in the third person. "Lana’s actually going ahead and writing the entire season 3.”

After news broke that Netflix would not be renewing Sense8, fans appealed with a petition that garnered more than 500,000 signatures.

The streaming site then announced it would produce a two-hour finale, and Wachowski posted a letter online thanking the fans for their efforts. “After that,” she wrote, “if this experience has taught me anything, you NEVER know.”
