On last night's New Girl, everyone's favorite primetime bromantic comedy duo — Nick Miller and Schmidt — finally acted on years of "will-they-or-won't-they" tension with a kiss. And it was adorable.

Roommates Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) have been broken up for a while now, which makes their dating lives that much more complicated. So to help a sista out, Nick pretends to be gay, but he's going to be gay the Nick Miller way.

Meanwhile, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) is distraught over losing his two best friends now that his ex CeCe (Hannah Simone) is contemplating getting a breast reduction. He wanders in just as Jess' date is — understandably — questioning Nick's gay credentials.

Luckily, Nick and Schmidt are nothing if not an old married couple. So when Nick plants one on him, Schmidt doesn't even miss a beat:
