The weather outside is frightful, but thankfully that's not stopping civic-minded folk from running through the streets in skimpy red swimwear. Yes, it's that time of year when Santa Speedo Runs are held in cities across the country, with donations benefiting various children's charities.
The tradition began in Boston in 2000 and has been picked up in Detroit, Atlanta, Annapolis and beyond. It's not a gay event, per se, but our tribe is always well represented.
You won't find us joining in (especially after all the Christmas treats we've scarfed down this month), but we salute all the participants. If you need to warm up, come find us at the bar!
