Alaska Is on a Quest to Crown the World's Best Drag Performer

The winner of the pageant will receive a cash prize of $10,000 (via PayPal).

Alaska's got a tiny little question to ask ya: Are you the best drag performer in the whole wide world?

The RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 2 winner has put down her cup of tea long enough to announce a new pageant: Drag Queen of the Year, which will crown the best drag performer on earth.

"Judged upon the criteria of presence, energy, nuance, integrity and stunningness, this is a pageant for everyone," Alaska said in a statement about the event. "Drag queens, drag kings, Trans artists, hyper queens, bio queens, AFAB queens are all welcome to participate. From first time performers to established pageant powerhouses, all are invited to compete for this coveted title."

Many drag performers from around the world will apply, but according to the event announcement "only a select few will compete—carefully chosen by a mysterious group of anonymous drag elders.”

The fierce queen who wins will receive a crown, a sash, a bouquet of "very nice flowers," and a cash prize of $10,000 (via PayPal).
