10 Virtual Pride Events Anyone Can Attend This Month

Because community and inclusion for all are core principles of Pride.

The COVID-19 pandemic might have forced us to reimagine how we honor Pride Month, but one thing is for certain: The radical spirit of Pride is very much alive.

Below, find a list of 10 virtual Pride events you can attend from the safety of your own home, including a range of events centering Black LGBTQ people amid ongoing actions against systemic racism and police brutality.

HMI Youth Pride Extravaganza

Hetrick-Martin Institute

What is it? An ongoing youth-centered livestream from the Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) featuring musical performances and guest appearances from LGBTQ influencers and celebrities.

When is it? Thursday, June 18 through Monday, June 29 via HMI's YouTube and Facebook

HBO's Human By Orientation


What is it? A series of free digital livestreamed events, including performances by Janelle Monáe and Kim Petras, along with a drag brunch with the queens from We're Here and a vogueing class inspired by Legendary on HBO Max.

AllOut #UnDistanced Pride Festival

What is it? An ongoing virtual Pride festival organized by AllOut featuring panel discussions, book readings, firsthand stories from LGBTQ refugees, a free film screening, and an online dance party

When is it? Kicks off Thursday, June 18 with a book reading at 12pm ET and continues with regular events through Friday, July 10

Black Queer Town Hall

What is it? A three-day virtual roundtable discussion about dismantling white supremacy featuring performances and fundraising opportunities. Black LGBTQ activists and RuPaul's Drag Race alumni Peppermint and Bob the Drag Queen will host the event, which was organized by Marti Gould Cumming in lieu of their Pride 2020 Drag Fest "in order to center on Black queer voices and offer a moment for healing, rejoicing, mourning, and love."

Them's Out Now Live


What is it? A star-studded Pride livestream including celebrity appearances and musical performances hosted by Them, Condé Nast's LGBTQ outlet. The event will also serve as a fundraiser for NYC's Ali Forney Center.

NYC Pride Rally

New York City Pride

What is it? A livestreamed rally against police brutality and systemic racism hosted by Black transgender writer-activist Ashlee Marie Preston and Black trans actor Brian Michael Smith (Queen Sugar, The L Word: Generation Q).

When is it? Friday, June 26 from 5–8pm ET via @NYCPride's Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook

Global Pride 2020

What is it? A 24-hour livestream from Pride organizers around the world featuring "musical and artistic performances, speeches from activists and campaigners, and addresses by public figures." Organizers are putting Black LGBTQ lives front-and-center this year. Todrick Hall will host the event.

NYC Dyke March Online Action and Film Festival

What is it? A livestreamed action and Black dyke film festival organized in the response to recent acts of violence and racism against Black Americans (more details TBA). As always, the action is a protest, "not a parade," and NYC Dyke March is not obtaining a permit or communicating with police.

San Francisco Pride Online Celebration and Rally

San Francisco Pride

What is it? More than 13 hours of livestreamed programming from San Francisco Pride, including headliner Big Freedia and performances by Betty Who, David Hernandez, Dorian Electra, and more. Local activists and drag performers Honey Mahogany, Persia, Sister Roma, and Yves Saint Croissant will host.

When is it? Saturday, June 27 from 1–9pm PT and Sunday, June 28 from 2–7pm PT

Queer Liberation March for Black Lives

Reclaim Pride Coalition

What is it? An in-person march organized by NYC's Reclaim Pride Coalition to "demand radical change in policing, full funding of community needs, and safety and honor for Black trans lives." Like last year's Queer Liberation March, this march will not have a permit, and organizers are not communicating or negotiating with police. The march will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend IRL.
