Happy Pride Month to The L Word: Generation Q fans only!
On Tuesday (June 1), Showtime released the first trailer for Season 2 of its massively popular L Word reboot. Gen Q Season 1 wrapped in early 2020, and production for the second season took longer than usual amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the network has finally confirmed a premiere date — and offered fans a sneak peek at what their favorite sapphic Angelenos have been up to since last season's jaw-dropping finale.
The 49-second teaser trailer features cameos from Shane (played by Kate Moennig), Alice (Leisha Hailey), and Bette (Jennifer Beals), three OG L Word stars who returned to reprise their roles for Gen Q, as well as the younger, more diverse core cast we met in Season 1: Micah (Leo Sheng), Dani (Arienne Mandi), Finley (Jacqueline Toboni), and Sophie (Rosanny Zayas).
Is Alice still trying to make that throuple work? Does Micah plan to confront José about his husband? Who did Sophie choose, damn it?! Catch the Gen Q premiere Friday, August 6, on Showtime to find out. (A word to the wise
fellow queer people with early bedtimes: The first five episodes of Season 2 will air on Sundays until September 13, when they switch to Mondays. However, each new episode will be available to stream for Showtime subscribers the Friday before it airs on TV.)
