Sia's New Song, "The Greatest," Is A Video Tribute To The 49 Pulse Nightclub Victims
Sia debuted the haunting video for her latest single "The Greatest" today in honor of the lives lost in the June 12 mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.
The video opens on the singer's frequent collaborator, 13-year-old Maddie Ziegler, standing amid a group of 49 still bodies in a locked cell. As the music begins, the bodies rise and Ziegler breaks the group of young dancers out of the room.
Once free, they explore the hallways and rooms of the dilapidated building where they've been trapped while the lyrics "Don't give up, I won't give up. I'm free to be the greatest, I'm alive" play in the background.
The single marks the 40-year-old singer's first original material since January's This Is Acting. In addition to Ziegler, the song also features rapper Kendrick Lamar.
