Kacey Musgraves Follows Her Arrow to the 2022 GLAAD Media Awards

The country music queen will receive the Vanguard Award at this year's L.A. ceremony.

If you've ever been to a Kacey Musgraves concert, you know that the singer has a large and devoted LGBTQ fan base.

She recently set the stage ablaze — literally — during her Star-Crossed Unveiled tour. Now the country music queen will light up the night when she accepts the Vanguard Award at this year's GLAAD Media Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Past recipients of the honor include Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Kerry Washington, Cher, Elizabeth Taylor, Whoopi Goldberg, Janet Jackson, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z.

Musgraves has been an outspoken ally of the LGBTQ community for years, with her 2013 song "Follow Your Arrow" becoming an anthem for her queer fans. She even played the song at the 25th annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York back in 2014, becoming the first country artist to perform at the ceremony. In addition to her catchy country tunes, Musgraves has also collaborated with Troye Sivan, shared the stage with RuPaul's Drag Race queens, and guest-judged on All Stars Season 4.

“From speaking out against anti-LGBTQ legislation in her home state of Texas, to raising awareness about bullying affecting LGBTQ youth, to uplifting the work of LGBTQ artists, Kacey continues to raise the bar for what it means to be an authentic ally and to inspire her fans to do the same,” said GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis.

Musgraves won't be the only big name at the 33rd-annual GLAAD Media Awards at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday, April 2. We're Here trio Bob the Drag Queen, Eureka, and Shangela will host the ceremony, and Andrew Garfield will present the Stephen F. Kolzah Award to Michaela Jaé Rodriguez. The Stephen F. Kolzak Award is presented to an LGBTQ media professional who "has made a significant difference in promoting LGBTQ acceptance." Previous honorees include Laverne Cox, Jim Parsons, Wanda Sykes, Troye Sivan, Ruby Rose, Chaz Bono, Stephen Warren, Melissa Etheridge, and Sir Ian McKellen.

As if that weren't enough, there will also be other special guests, including JoJo Siwa, Jeopardy! super champ Amy Schneider, Meredith Marks from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, 9-1-1: Lone Star power couple Ronen Rubinstein and Rafael Silva, Yellowjackets stars Liv Hewson and Jasmin Savoy Brown, RuPaul's Drag Race queens, and many more.

Now excuse us while we listen to "High Horse" on repeat in preparation for what is sure to be an epic night.

This year's GLAAD Media Awards will take place April 2 in L.A. and May 6 in New York.
