King Princess Crowns Herself a "Cheap Queen" in New Single
Young "Pussy Is God" legend King Princess is back in action.
This Friday, May 31, she dropped a new single, "Cheap Queen," holding her rabid stans over until she finally drops her highly anticipated debut album.
The 20-year-old singer-songwriter, who exploded onto the music scene with her 2018 EP, Make My Bed, has followed in the footsteps of queer pop music pioneers like "Pynk" icon Janelle Monáe and "Girls Like Girls" singer Hayley Kiyoko, putting her sexual orientation front and center.
She's also attracted a cult-like following among young queer women, amassing some 429,000 followers on Instagram, headlining her own concert tour, and performing at Coachella 2019 alongside a plethora of other LGBTQ acts.
Oh, did we mention her past romance with fellow queer celeb Amandla Stenberg? Or her cover of a Fiona Apple classic alongside the "I Know" singer and music industry veteran herself?
"Queen" sounds about right.
