Will Horton Finally Reunited With Sonny On "Days Of Our Lives"—But There's A Catch

"I'm sorry, I've never seen you before in my life."

Will Horton has returned to Days of Our Lives to stir up some drama, but like any storyline on a daily soap opera—it has taken some time for Will to finally reunite with his family on the series.

Chandler Massey, who played beloved gay character Will Horton from 2010-2014 on Days of Our Lives, returned to the long-running daytime soap to reprise his character—even though Will was killed off three years ago.

“When we learned that Chandler was interested in returning to acting, we felt it was a sign,” co-executive producer Greg Meng told the New York Post.

Massey won three consecutive Daytime Emmys for playing Will, and was a part of television history when he portrayed him during the series’ first kiss between two men in 2012. Massey left the series in 2014 and Guy Wilson took over the role. Later that year Will made history again when he married Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) in daytime TV’s first same-sex wedding between two men.

Back in September, Will’s former husband Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) was about to marry Paul (Christopher Sean), when the wedding was interrupted with the news of Will’s return. Then viewers got their first glimpse of Will’s return when he appeared in a hallucination to his alcoholic father, Lucas (Bryan Dattilo). Will also got back into bed with Sonny in a dream the night before his wedding to Paul.

Will's family, including Sami, Will's mother, played by Allison Sweeney, and Sonny hit the road to Memphis, to find where Will has been hiding. Will's father, Lucas, finally found him working at a bar, but when Sami and Sonny came to rescue him they found out that he didn't know who they were.

"I'm sorry, I've never seen you before in my life," Will tells Sonny after he encounters Will closing up the bar for the night.

"You don't know what it's like to see you right now. You don't know what I'm feeling," an emotional Sonny says in the scene. "I have no idea how you are alive and living in Memphis, but maybe this will trigger your memory," Sonny continues as he kisses Will.

After Will pushes Sonny off, Sami enters the bar, relieved to be reunited with her son, but he doesn't know who she is either. It isn't until Susan Banks (Eileen Davidson) arrives that they realize she is behind all of this and has brainwashed Will into believing that he is Susan's deceased son, E.J.

Confused? Well, buckle up because this is only the beginning now that the Salem residents know Will is alive.

Who knows what will happen next, but as the Days of Our Lives fall preview says: "This will be a November to remember."
