If you stan zombie apocalypse flicks (and a lot of that depends on how you feel about the current state of affairs), By Day’s End delivers one with an LGBTQ twist. It's the tale of a lesbian couple, Carly (Lyndsey Lantz) and Rina (Andrea Nelson), whose financial troubles and rocky relationship are overshadowed when people turn to flesh-eating due to a virus outbreak. Self-quarantining ain’t gonna cut it, henny! (Available now on DVD, Breaking Glass Pictures)

Roswell, New Mexico

In Season 2 of the rebooted WB sci-fi series, about literal illegal aliens living in the titular tourist city’s desert community, showrunner Carina Adly MacKenzie promises that a straight-identified character will end up not being so straight after all. Place your bets! (Mondays on The CW)

Tomboy

When she moves to a new neighborhood, 10-year-old Laure (Zoé Héran) takes on a male identity and the name “Mikäel” while juggling a budding romance with an early bloomer, Lisa (Jeanne Disson). The second feature from Portrait of a Lady On Fire writer-director Céline Sciamma, this 2011 gem about childhood gender nonconformity is gentle, sweet, and sometimes suspenseful. Criterion Channel has paired it with the 2017 Macedonian short, Would You Look at Her, about a tomboy teen “who dares to take part in a religious ritual traditionally reserved for men.” It’s a brave new gender world, fam! Motherland: Fort Salem

A little bit X-Men, a little bit Harry Potter, and a whole lot of fun, openly gay Claws creator Eliot Laurence’s new, female-powered fantasy series imagines a branch of the U.S. military made up of Salem witches. To combat a new supernatural threat, young recruits Raelle (Taylor Hickson), Tally (Jessica Sutton), and Abigail (Ashley Nicole Williams) endure basic training, but we also get some spells, a central queer romance between Raelle and the duplicitous yet enchanting Scylla (Amalia Holm), and some hot boy-on-boy kissing action. Feel Good

Queer comic Mae Martin spills her tea to entertaining effect in this refreshingly raw, semi-autobiographical dramedy about a Canadian stand-up comedian, Mae (Martin), living in London. Over the course of Feel Good’s first six-episode season, Mae becomes girlfriends with George (Charlotte Ritchie), who previously identified as straight; reveals she’s an addict (the awesome Lisa Kudrow plays her mom and de facto sponsor, Maggie); and pursues a career in comedy. Ellen Page is already a Martin stan, and you soon will be too! (Streaming March 19 on Netflix)

Top Chef

The cooking competition’s Los Angeles–set 17th season is an all-star edition with fan favorites and well-established kitchen talent including LGBTQ chefs Lisa Fernandes (Season 4), Gregory Gourdet (Season 12), and Melissa King (Season 12). With a record-setting prize of $250,000 dollahs, they better sous-vide for their lives. (Premieres March 19 on Bravo)
