McCain Fries Bites Back At Bigots With Another LGBT-Inclusive Commercial

"Love doesn’t care about gender."

McCain frozen foods is pushing back at homophobes with a lesbian couple in its new "Here's To Love" ad campaign.

McCain, one of the world's largest distributors of frozen french fries, was hit with anti-gay backlash after featuring two gay dads in an ad from September 2017.

Real-life husbands Lee and Mat Samuels-Camozzi and their 19-month-old son, Carter, were personally berated online. McCain eventually removed the couple from the spot's 30-second cut.

"We are shocked this kind of attitude exists in the 21st century," Lee told the Daily Record. "We’re proud of our little family and we have nothing to be ashamed of."

But McCain was undeterred by the backlash: It's new "Here's To Love" ad campaign features a lesbian couple, who kiss, dance, and cook together.

The commercial also includes people with disabilities and interracial couples.

"When it comes to love, what's normal?" a narrator asks. "Normal isn't normal. Love doesn't care about gender, where you're from, or what others may think."
