J.K. Rowling posthumously outed Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore as gay in the Harry Potter series, so fans were hoping to get more insight into the mage’s romantic life with the Fantastic Beasts prequels.
The first trailer for the second film in the series of Fantastic Beasts prequels, The Crimes of Grindelwald, dropped today, and us Muggles get our first look at Jude Law in action as Dumbledore, along with Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), who faces off against Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp.
Guess there won't be a romantic reunion between the two powerful wizards in the movie.
The film's director, David Yates, told Entertainment Weekly that Dumbledore is “not explicitly” gay in the upcoming sequel, “but I think all the fans are aware of that. He had a very intense relationship with Grindelwald when they were young men. They fell in love with each other’s ideas, and ideology and each other.”
Judging from the preview, The Crimes of Grindewald will feature plenty of magical mayhem as Newt follows his Fantastic Beasts to Paris, but viewers will also be treated to Law is some tight trousers, which show off his magical ass-ets.
Forget Neville Longbottom, Dumbledore is our newest wizard crush.
