"Sense8" Posts Delicious Behind-The-Scenes Set Photos From Season 2

Plus: When can fans expect the new season to drop?

Big news for Sense8 fans: Producer Lana Wachowski has posted several set photos on tumblr from shooting Season 2, and new details have emerged about exactly when (and how) the new season is coming to us.

"It was while shooting the Big Cluster Birthday Bash, we wished there was a way for our fans to experience what we experience while making this show," wrote Wachowski, who created, writes and produces the show with sister Lilly and writer J. Michael Straczynski.

"The joy, the jet lag, the lunacy, the intimacy, the fierce commitment and the LOVE we all have for this project and each other."

"And as Netflix does, they made our wish come true," she added. "Welcome to the making of #S8S2! #Road2Sense8."

Last week, Sense8 star Jamie Clayton tipped off fans that Episode One of the new season would drop on Christmas Day—but, bucking Netflix's usual M.O.—the rest of the season will drop all at once next year.

"Ep1 at Christmas!" she tweeted "The rest… 2017!"

Another change from last season: British actor Aml Ameen, who played Capheus (a.k.a. "Van Damme"), has left the show and will be replaced by newcomer Toby Onwumere.

It's not exactly clear why Ameen quit, but Deadline reports there was some conflict between him and Wachowski "that flared up at the Season 2 table read in Berlin and worsened as filming progressed in India."

Whether the scenes Ameen already filmed will be reshot remains to be seen.

While the sensates were mostly isolated from each other in Season One—encountering each other only on a psychic plane—they are expected to get together in Season 2, with the numerous location shots leading the release date being pushed from June to the end of the year.

Well, it'll certainly make a nice Christmas present.
