6 Celebrities Who Have Come Out as Bisexual in 2018

It's been quite a year to be queer!

Though 2018 is almost over, the number of out celebrities and public figures continues to grow and grow.

We've covered quite a handful of coming out stories, but ICYMI, here are six celebrities who've embraced their bisexuality this year.

Thompson came out in June during an interview with Net-a-Porter.

"I can take things for granted because of my family—it’s so free and you can be anything that you want to be. I’m attracted to men and also to women," she told the site.

Her friendship with Janelle Monáe was also an important part of her coming out story, as Thompson co-starred in many of the Dirty Computer music videos, including the sapphic hit "Pynk."

Mraz came out as bisexual in a July interview with Billboard.

He kickstarted some controversy, though, after framing his bisexuality as a facet of Two-Spirit identity: "...and my wife laid it out for me. She calls it ‘two spirit,’ which is what the Native Americans call someone who can love both man and woman. I really like that."

Two-Spirit is a cultural identity reserved for Native Americans, and people who don't belong to that community are discouraged from identifying as such.

Last year pal Alia Shawkat came out as bisexual, but this year it was Abbi Jacobson's turn.

The Broad City star came out as queer in April during an interview with Vanity Fair. "I kind of go both ways. I date men and women," Jacobson said. "They have to be funny, doing something they love. I don’t know—I’ve never really been interviewed about this before."

Jacobson also mentioned she's single and open to the possibility of finding love: "Yeah, who knows? The world is my oyster."

The British singer came out as bisexual earlier this year, prompted by her controversial single "Girls, Girls, Girls."

Singers like Hayley Kiyoko, AKA Lesbian Jesus, took to social media to express how they felt about the single, describing it as "queer-baiting." Ora has since apologized.

Andrea Russett

The social media star came out earlier this week after dealing with a close friend's homophobia. The starlet is now openly bisexual and speaking about her experiences, hoping that it can help others.

"You are not any less of a person because of who you may choose to love," she said.

Hennessy Carolina, Cardi B's younger sister, came out as gay back in 2016, but identities can change over time. The rapper took to Instagram to come out as bisexual in June.

"If you can’t accept the B In (L)LGBTQ..(L)lesbian(G)ay(B)BISEXUAL(T)transgender (Q)ueer, then please don’t speak up for the community if you can’t fully understand ALL of us!"
