Pope Still Hates The Gays, Same-Sex Marriage
Pope Benedict XVI is still not down with the gays, calling same-sex marriage "defective" in a speech in France yesterday. To be totally honest, we were more shocked the Pope was still capable of making speeches.
"The family is threatened by a conception of human nature that is proven to be defective," he told the audience, a reference to the fight to legalize gay marriage in France. "Defending the family and life in society is prophetic and anything but regressive. Marriage and the family are institutions that must be promoted and defended from every possible misrepresentation of their true nature, since whatever is harmful to them will in fact be injurious to society itself."
Pope Benny has long stressed his distaste for what he has called "a violation of natural order," once claiming it was not like race or gender and it was "not unjust discrimination to take sexual orientation into account."
So all you New York gays out there looking for someone to officiate your upcoming nuptials, the man who wears ornate scarves and hats and is the leader of the Catholic Church is gonna say he is busy.
Pope Alexander VI would have totally done it though.
