Anti-Gay Catholic Activist Admits To Gay Affairs, Credits His Mother Getting Cancer For Helping Him "Heal"

"Confused about my own sexuality, I lived a life of live-in relationships with homosexual men."

In a new video, Anti-LGBT Catholic evangelist Michael Voris opens up about his gay past.

Voris is an evangelist well-known in the Catholic community for his intense and impassioned denouncements of homosexuality.

To spread his gospel of hate, he founded "Church Militant," a YouTube channel described as a "bold and exciting Internet television network focusing on authentic Catholic programming...all about spreading the faith, giving people what they deserve—the truth—and saving souls."

Though the channel mostly contains short news clips of Catholic reporters reflecting on trending topics, Voris has his own particular series "The Vortex," in which he condemns things that he finds sinful: gay people, environmentalists, protestants and demons, to name just a few.

However, in the latest installment of his series, he turns the moral lens on himself by exploring his sinful past living the "gay lifestyle."

Though the evangelist claims that he's never lied about his previous indiscretions, it appears as though he's only now getting specific about his gay past because he believes enemies of his in the Church are planning to out him in the press.

“I’ve never made a secret that my life prior to my reversion was extremely sinful," he begins.

"I did not reveal the specific nature or details of the sins because when I returned home to the church, I did not think that a full public confession of details was necessary in order to start proclaiming the great mercy of God."

He goes on to decry his past, which he describes as a time of great conflict and confusion.

"I will now reveal that for most of my years in my 30s, confused about my own sexuality, I lived a life of live-in relationships with homosexual men."

"On the inside," he continues, "I was deeply conflicted about all of it...I gave into deep pains from my youth by seeking solace in lust, and in the process, surrendered my masculinity.”

Voris says he was only able to escape from this pain because his mother "prayed to be given whatever suffering needed" so that he would be "granted sufficient grace to revert" back to the Catholic church. Shortly thereafter, Voris claims that this suffering came in the form of stomach cancer, from which she would eventually die.

As he stood at her coffin at her funeral, Voris stated "Mom, what you went through for me, you will not have gone through in vain. I will change."

Voris believes that it was his mother's sacrifice, coupled with the "grace" of God that eventually rescued him"from a miserable, horrible spiritual darkness" where he "lost almost all understanding" of himself.
