Sam Smith: I'm More Hurt By Someone Calling Me "Fat" Than A "Faggot"

Sam Smith abides by the popular "sticks and stones..." nursery rhyme however there is one word that does, in fact, hurt him. It starts with an "F" but it's not the expected "faggot," but rather "fat."

Smith sat down for an expansive interview on Sunday's 60 Minutes in which he revealed that he's been out and proud since he was 10-years-old, never having that decision be the cause of any turmoil despite enduring bullying.

The weight, however, has long plagued him, resulting in his recent dropping of fifteen pounds in an attempt to combat his food addiction.

"If someone called me fat that affects me way more than someone calling me faggot," Smith revealed. "I think just because I've accepted that if someone calls me a faggot, it's like, I am gay and I'm proud to be gay so there are no issues. If someone calls you fat it's like, that's something I want to change. That's something I can change so that affects me more."
