Aydian Dowling Shoots "Men's Health" Cover As "Ultimate Guy" Finalist, Reveals Plans To Start A Family
Aydian Dowling, the hunky fitness model whose quest to grace the cover of Men's Health has inspired many, is finally living his dreams!
Dowling first made headlines in April as the only frontrunner in the search for the next Men's Health "Ultimate Guy" cover model — a man who, by popular vote, would snag a spot on the magazine's November cover. He maintained a ridiculous lead over his competitors and was named one of the top five finalists when voting closed on June 21.

This week, Dowling was flown to New York City, where he met with Men's Health editors and his four closest competitors for a full-blown photoshoot. All five men will appear in a feature within the magazine, but it's up to Men's Health editors to decide which one will grace the cover.
If Dowling is chosen (which, he should be, right? He was leading by literally tens of thousands of votes), he will become the first-ever transgender Men's Health cover model.
“My hope is that by putting myself out there and entering the contest at all will give other trans people the courage to find their own voice and platform to express it,” he told the Huffington Post in April. “I think winning the contest would bridge the gap between trans and non trans people making the statement that we are all men and worthy of being on any magazine that welcome men.”

Dowling also revealed this week his plans to start a family with wife Jenilee, who gushed about her hunky husband to The Mirror. "I’m so proud of Aydian and what he’s achieved, and I love being able to call him my hubby," she said.
Men's Health plans to announce the results of the "Ultimate Guy" contest and reveal their November cover star in early October. Best of luck to Aydian!!
