Trans "Big Brother" Houseguest Audrey Middleton Withdraws From Game, Receives Special Treatment From Production

Big Brother US houseguest Audrey Middleton made history in June when she was cast as the show’s first-ever transgender houseguest, but she'll be leaving a slightly less prestigious legacy when she leaves the house — a possibility that could come as soon as tonight.

Audrey came out on her first night in the house and has been well-received by her fellow houseguests ever since, but her constant and unchecked rule-breaking recently has started to cause problems for the 25-year-old digital media consultant.

Audrey has been a cutthroat Big Brother player from the start, likening herself to the fictional serial killer Dexter Morgan from Showtime's Dexter series. Her tendency to lie, break promises, and sell out fellow alliance members made her an excellent addition to a bland cast but it has also, unfortunately, made her a huge target.

This week, Audrey's gameplay got her nominated for eviction, and she almost immediately began withdrawing from the game entirely.

According to Big Brother Network, Audrey voluntarily confined herself to her bedroom for days following her nomination, refusing to spend time with or speak to anyone. She's violated rules by eating regular food and sleeping in regular beds, privileges which she technically lost during a "Have Not" competition, and has been spending up to eight or nine hour sessions in the Diary Room, a secluded room where cast members tape their confessionals.

At one point, she emerged from the Diary Room holding a paper bag filled with goodies from the outside world — something no Big Brother houseguest has ever been entitled to:

Earlier this week, Audrey even defied production staff when she refused to attend the Veto Meeting, a weekly televised meeting that all houseguests are required to attend.

While Big Brother contestants who break such rules are punished, Audrey hasn't been. According to houseguests discussing the situation on the live feeds, Audrey has been given permission by Big Brother to eat and sleep where she pleases.

Big Brother Network notes that while Audrey's fellow houseguests have been worried about her health the last few days, they pretty much decided to give up after she continued to show no signs of wanting to participate:

At this point the Big Brother house has moved on past Audrey Middleton and while the Houseguests have been checking on her well being periodically most of them are now over the situation.

...

As of now there truly is no chance of Audrey surviving the vote and remaining in the Big Brother house past Thursday. They’re all ready to move along in the game and focus on playing it. Audrey has decided to withdraw from the game, but not technically leave.

The houseguests have even suggested Audrey may have been allowed to pre-tape her exit from the house during one of her nine hour-long Diary Room sessions.

Audrey's exit from the house will most likely take place tonight during the show's live eviction, which starts at 9pm on CBS.

Below, you can watch the moment Audrey's game unraveled during a conversation with Shelli, her best friend in the house:
