Britney Spears goes a little insane in her new video for" Criminal," going from a life of domestic abuse to a life of Bonnie and Clyde style crime.  Who doesn’t want to watch the pop princess wave a gun around (safely, of course)?

The video kicks off with Brit at a fancy party, being demeaned by her abusive boyfriend.  Polished party Britney has come a long way from her Crossroads level of acting, we’d be willing to watch her in a whole Lifetime movie.  She retreats to the bathroom to throw in some perfume product placement, then returns to sass her boyfriend, who drags her outside and slaps her.  Enter the criminal, who flattens the jerk and protects our heroine.  After a nicely-aimed kick from Ms. Spears the music kicks in and she’s off in the arms of her new beau through the streets of London.

The song itself is definitely not her best work, but we’re treated to gratuitous shots of Britney making out with her hot, tattooed real-life boyfriend Jason Trawick, in slow motion.  There’s nothing to complain about.  She twists in hallways (back-lit, of course), rides a motorcycle, waves a gun around a convenience store and gets shot at by the cops.  The dude escapes in the end.  Do we smell video sequel?
