Jon Stewart spells out the gay agenda

On last night's Daily Show Jon Stewart took aim at last week's Visible Vote forum on Logo (our parent company and "the gay-oriented cable channel that isn't Lifetime or Bravo") last week. After picking on co-host Melissa Etheridge for bringing her personal experience into her questions so often (something I thought made the discussions far more effective), Stewart made fun of candidates' attempts to court gay votes without coming off as too gay friendly:

"The candidates were trying to reassure the gay community how much they support them, while reassuring the country that they don't completely support them."
Stewart then compared Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards' statements to missed shots in golf.

Stewart referred to Dennis Kucinich as "The Golden Bear" for the positive reaction he got during the forum. When co-host Jonathan Capehart remarked that Kucinich appears to be "for everything the gay community wants," Stewart explained that meant "gay marriage, civil rights protection, fleet week expanded to fleet year, FEMA assistance for when it's raining men, Kathy Griffin to host everything and a nationwide ban on pleated pants."

Hm. I hate to quibble, but I think we'd like to see Neil Patrick Harris and Ellen Degeneres get their share of hosting gigs.

You can check out the segment after the break.
