5 (Educated) Guesses About Matt Bomer's Role On "American Horror Story: Freak Show"

Matt Bomer makes his long-awaited debut on American Horror Story: Freak Show on Wednesday, in a part that creator Ryan Murphy has described as "disturbing."

I keep saying this, but I guess I keep topping it in my mind—but I think it’s the most disturbing thing we’ve done because it’s so real and so based on fact. It’s a true horror sequence and Matt is a good friend and we’ve collaborated many times.

Murphy revealed Bomer, whom he first worked with on Glee and The Normal Heart, will appear at least with Michael Chiklis and Finn Wittrock, but exactly what whocharacter will be is still a mystery.

Putting on our thinking caps, we've come up with five possibilities for Bomer's "warped" role.

1. Stanley's perfect trick

We learned that Denis O'Hare's closeted con man had a freakish gift of his own—a 13-inch penis. Maybe Matt plays the one man in the world who can swallow that entire sword?

2. Evan Peters' big brother

They've both got kind of a rockabilly thing going on. Plus Bomer played Darren Criss' cool older brother on Glee, so we know Murphy has thought along those lines before.

3. Dandy Mott's boyfriend

In the photo at top, Bomer appears to be in Twisty's hideaway in the woods. We know Dandy has taken on the killer clown's mantle and, since he hasn't shown any interest in the girls his mother tried to set him up with, maybe Bomer will be the Bonnie to the brattish psychopath's Clyde.

4. A talent scout who snatches up Elsa

Frau Mars keeps expecting a talk, dark stranger to whisk her away from the freak show and put her in the spotlight. Wouldn't it be a mindfuck if that actually happened?

5. Elvis Presley

It's the 1950s, and they are a troupe of entertainers. Considering the series has already referenced Anne Frank and voodoo queen Marie Laveau, would an appearance by the King be so far-fetched?
